Good point. Nearly everone on this forum writes scripts, yet we all want to directors, producers, DPs, etc. Is there no one out there who just wants to write? But then again it is the lonliest of movie occupations, and the least recognised.

Yes there should be a free exchange of ideas especially when most of the films that people are making here are horror and action. That I would term a collaborative process, but it doesn't really matter because if the person can't fucking write then its going to be shit anyway.

I just didn't like the way Mods wants ideas when it appears like he's going to do a half assed job with them anyway. How hard can it be to come up with your own half assed ideas? The post was just fucking pretentious.

What's half arsed about them? Just because it takes me maybe a couple of weeks to write a feature doesn't mean the process stopped there. I wrote a feature length action film Redlum, that has had seven rewrites and is not something presentable. And some of the interest it's attracted pretty much suggests to me as not being "half assed".

I quite gladly post up my scripts cos everyone on this board seems to make shorts, so no-one will probably make the ones I post up. The last one I wrote was way out of anyones reach anyway, set on a train and blowing most of it up.

My posts may be silly, or "gay" as one of you would undoubtedly call them, but I don't see many other interesting posts on this board. And what's with everyone hating each other? For fucks sake, we're just trying to chat about movie related stuff. Are your movies as shit as the way you put across an argument, or START an argument for that matter, just cos some guy asked for some ideas?

Go on, quote that in your next post and rant about it, with an excessive amount of obsceneties, and then stray from the point and say some random rubbish about "script writers vs directors".

I said it would appear you were going to do a half assed job with them not that you actually were. I just got the impression from your post.

I gave somone some ideas on a Vampire movie he wanted to make a couple of days ago. I don't know if they were any good or help.

What I will say though is if you are writing mostly horror and action which I get the impression you are then the basis for those sort of films is mainly the idea and the plot. So you really do need to come up with that yourself - which I know you can. Because of the nature therefore of the genre (i.e being focused around the plot), I wouldn't particularly want to give a good idea I had to someone else. If you are writing a drama or a comedy though, the nature of those genres means that the focus is on content, dialogue, and characters and so it is alot harder to give people ideas for these. The focuses of the latter generes, I would think are quite personal and what I would call the hard part, and so like Despin said, you would want to know that you yourself were responsible for these.
This is why I think that a lot of 'filmmakers' here, like to do actions/horrors as they are alot easier to actually do well (IMO). That's what this place is though - a place for film makers. If you want to discuss Tennesse Williams, you goto a screen writing forum.

Mods I was on your side primarily ok. If you posted that question again I would say 'Well, what genre would you like to do/what ideas do you have already', but it turned into some hysterical slagging match.

And who the fuck would use the word 'gay' to describe something. It is not the excessive use of swear words that indicates stupidity, rather the inapropriate use of adjectives.
